Joe Chernov has joined Hubspot as VP of Content. Chernov had been with Boston startup, Kinvey, that he joined just 22 days after Eloqua’s IPO in August 2012. Prior to joining Kinvey, Chernov served as Eloqua’s VP of Content Marketing and had been with the company since 2009.
Here is what Chernov had to say about Hubspot in an interview with Jay Baer last year, “Eloqua is a premium brand, and I’m not implying that HubSpot is not,” said Chernov. “Eloqua is a premium brand, and so we made a conscious decision to produce premium content. HubSpot is like – they do a great job at being kind of the eyes and ears of social media for their clients, and so it really makes sense for that brand to be kind of first mover and to be fast, because I think their audience looks to them to know what’s the latest and greatest.”

Chernov joins a series of Eloqua execs that have left the company since it was acquired by Oracle in 2013. Heidi Melin was Eloqua’s CMO and she left in March 2013.
