Infusionsoft hosted its annual convention, ICON 2016, in Phoenix this month with little fanfare from a product enhancement standpoint. Growth has been slow but steady as customers increased from from 30,000 in 2014 to 35,000 in 2015 with 117,000 users and revenue of $100M. This slower growth coupled with customer perception about the product being stagnant with low enhancements has lead to some changes to the management team.
“We grew so fast so that some of our processes and systems were not in place,” said CEO, Clate Mask. Enter the hiring of Terry Hicks as Chief Product Officer where he now leads the company’s global product strategy, including product management, payments and business development.
Hicks spent 15 years at Intuit, where his last role was Vice President and General Manager of Intuit QuickBooks Online. Hicks helped grow the business from 450,000 US subscribers to more than 840,000 subscribers in over 120 countries and established from the ground up the now $600M payments business.
Part of Terry’s passion in making Infusionsoft easier to use and one of the announcements was the Infustionsoft Email Builder. “We looked at the roadblocks getting in the way of small businesses doing effective email marketing, and we removed those barriers so they could be more successful,” said Terry Hicks, chief product officer for Infusionsoft. “With the Infusionsoft Email Builder small businesses can easily and quickly send professional-looking emails that make them feel proud and that their customers can access on any device.”
Other product announcements included:
• Enhancement of payment solution to include EMV-compliant mobile card reader.
• Integrations with online accounting software providers, QuickBooks Online and Xero.
