Marketing automation software drives more revenue by accelerating the sales cycle and converting more leads to prospects and ultimately prospects to customers.  Marketing automation software should also help retain customers and provide upsell opportunities.  According to David Raab, marketing automation software revenues will hit $525 million in 2012.  The four largest marketing automation software companies in terms of gross revenues are Infusionsoft, HubSpot, Marketo, and Eloqua.   The next three largest vendors are Pardot, Act-On, and Net-Results and there a at least 20 other smaller competitors.
